Sell More by Getting Organized: 3 FoolProof Tactics
January 10, 2019

It’s the new year and that means new beginnings. Are you looking to sell more by getting organized?
I get it, not everyone is a neat freak. And being considered “organized” may seem like the farthest thing from one of your capabilities. But believe it or not, being organized doesn’t require as much discipline as you’d think.
In fact, there’s plenty of tools that exist to make organization something feasible. So, what are you waiting for?
3 Ways to Sell More by Getting Organized
1. Use Your CRM
It’s 2019 and you work in sales. There is no doubt that your company uses some sort of CRM. Whether it’s top-of-the-line technology or an excel spreadsheet, make sure you’re using the CRM.
Why, you may ask? Well, for starters, CRM is the KEY to being organized in sales. It’s your cheat-sheet for sales calls, or tracking opportunities, and for gathering information.
Make sure you start plugging in the details of everyone you meet into your CRM. This way, in Q4 you can reach out to prospects you spoke to in Q1 without missing a beat.
2. Use a Sales PlayBook
At CFS, we truly believe in the power of a Sales PlayBook. That’s why we spend so much time developing unique PlayBooks with our clients.
Why does this type of organization help you sell more? Well, to start, it compiles your sales team's best practices and knowledge so that everyone can benefit. Why should your team members keep templates and processes that work to themselves?
The PlayBook organizes your selling information into a straight-forward, editable, online platform.
We also find that having a Sales PlayBook saves sales reps a lot of time. Why spend time searching for email templates or anything else when you can spend time actively selling?

3. Clean Up Your Desk – Physical and Virtual
How are you supposed to operate at your most productive levels when you’re bogged down by clutter? Organize your desktop, both physical and virtual.
For your virtual desktop, upload any documents to the cloud server your company uses to back up files. Organize documents by client, by opportunity, or in any way that makes sense to you.
Make sure you’re using the proper marketing collateral by deleting any old version that may live on your computer.
As for the physical desktop, try to declutter as much as possible. Everything on your desk should have a purpose, and that purpose should be related to helping you do your job.
Knick-knacks and trash do distract you, even if it may not seem like it!
Ultimately, in order to sell more by getting organized, you need to think about it from all angles. How can you organize yourself both virtually, physically, and communally?
Store your information in an easy-to-access place such as a CRM system and amplify your sales process by using a Sales PlayBook.
It’s never too late to get organized, so get started today!
